Every primary school within the City of Westminster has been rated either ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted in the latest inspections it has carried out, meaning the central London borough now sits high up in the education tables.
Ofsted, the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills, awarded 32 out of the 45 schools within the borough a ‘good’ rating, while the remaining 13 schools all received a rating of ‘outstanding’.
According to Westminster City Council, this means the borough is one of the top-performing local authorities for schools in the country.
It seems that primary schools are performing particularly well in Westminster, and above the national average.
Westminster Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Economic Development, Education and Community, Councillor David Harvey, said: “Education is the key to aspiration, and this council wants every child from every community in Westminster to get the best possible start”.
It’s no secret that where good schools are, property buyers and renters with children will go. For property buyers with children of school age, moving to a house with proximity to good schools is often a top priority, and something parents will not compromise on. It’s for this reason that property prices are often at a premium in popular catchment areas.
