New rules regarding Section 21 notices come into force today, as part of the Deregulation Act 2015.
This part of the legislation has been introduced with the aim of preventing ‘Revenge Evictions’ e.g. a landlord giving notice to a tenant, following the tenant reporting a problem with the property, rather than paying to have the problem fixed.
The legislation introduces a new set of rules, and a new process, both for the issueing of a Section 21 notice, and for dealing with tenant’s complaints.
