The best places to go in London this Christmas

London goes all-out for Christmas, and this year is no exception. The lights are brighter, the trees are taller, and the decorations are shinier than ever before.

Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park

Experience magical Christmas attractions and soak up the festive atmosphere at Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland.

This massive Christmas festival (probably the largest in all of London) has been around for 13 years now and is packed with everything you can imagine: from rides to ice skating to food and Christmas vendors to shows and everything in between. Whether you’re going with kids, on a date or with your friends, it offers plenty of entertainment in a variety of forms.

Ice Skating in London

Go ice skating in the shadow of the spectacular Tower of London or glide around the Christmas tree at the Natural History Museum’s magical ice rink.

Outdoor ice-skating rinks are always a lot of fun especially at this time of year, and London has loads of them! From Tower of London to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park to the rooftop Skylight rink in Tobacco Dock and countless others, I’d argue the two very best rinks are at Somerset House and the Natural History Museum.

Carol Singing in Trafalgar Square

Sing along to Christmas carols around Trafalgar Square’s world-famous Christmas tree or be part of traditional Christmas carols at the historic St Paul’s Cathedral.

Is there a better way to get into the spirit of Christmas than with some Carols, now combine that with the community feeling of being part of a group singalong and you will be feeling more festive than ever!

As well as watching and singing along in the crowds you can actually apply to sing in a group upon the stage. Because it is such a popular thing to do it however you do need to apply and get approved. You can do that at the london.gov website by clicking the link HERE

High Tea at The Dorchester Hotel

Enjoy a festive high tea at The Dorchester

Is there anything more British than a High Tea, now combine that with one of the best British hotels and some festive touches and you have the recipe for a truly unforgettable experience. The Dorchester’s holiday decor is exceptional, and they offer one of the most exquisite traditional high tea experiences you’ll find in the entire city of London.

Igloo with a view at Coppa Club

Drink mulled wine in an igloo by the Thames at Coppa Club

Getting cosy in a heated space that’s romantically lit is already enough to entice you, but these have beautiful views of Tower Bridge. You can order food, or simply sip on some mulled wine and enjoy the view.

The space however is limited and they get booked up quickly so we would highly recommend you reserve as early as possible to be able to experience this exceptional place.

London shops incredible window displays

Enjoy all the Christmas displays at London Department stores such as Selfridges, Fortnum and Mason, Harrod’s and Liberty London.

Paying a visit to these London-specific department stores is something you should do on any trip (for a variety of reasons) but especially at Christmas. From the spread of Christmas treats in each respective food hall to the gorgeous, intricately detailed window displays and the seasonal shopping available inside. Christmas is taken to a whole new level in these London Establishments.

Covent Garden

Christmas wouldn’t really be complete without a trip to Covent Garden and a photo under their iconic tree.

Decorated beautifully Covent Garden can really offer some festive treats and some wonderful dining experiences.

Peggy Porschen

Enjoy sweet treats with a difference in Belgravia and Chelsea

Located just down the road from Andrew Reeves Estate Agents Offices is probably London’s most Instagrammable cafe.

The team at Peggy Porschen always embraces the festivities and the pink bakery is transformed into a glittering confection with Christmas trees and festive themed cupcakes that taste as good as they look.
