The number of new property sellers in Westminster increased by 70.3% last month, with a 45% rise in new sellers in London as a whole.
Though property supply fell in the previous months of July and August, September has been altogether more positive, with every London borough seeing a rise in the number of new property sellers during September.
The City of Westminster recorded a substantial rise, but there was an even higher rise of 96.1% in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, while in Camden there was a 77.5% rise, and a 69% rise in Hammersmith & Fulham.
The UK did see a rise in the number of new properties for sale, with an increase of 18.1%, but a rise in new property was more considerable in London.
Summer is typically a busier time for property sellers, with a slight slowdown in September and October, but this data shows that September has been more active than the previous months.
With Brexit uncertainty seemingly having more of an impact on the London market, it’s interesting to see more movement from property sellers in London than elsewhere in the UK.
According to the data, property seller numbers are rising more quickly in the capital than other parts of the UK.
